Mind you, I live in LA, very close to Beverly Hills, but even so, I am certain that of the twenty or so blonde kids I see at a playground not ALL of them can be half-Hispanic. I sometimes feel a little out of place and am very happy to see another mother, father or just plain English-speaking person (my Spanish is so horrible that I would never willingly inflict it on another sentient being, let alone someone whose native tongue it is). I have no doubt that I have glommed onto the occasional SAHD with what must look like frantic interest. In these cases talking to someone with a vocabulary of more that forty words is more my intent, than any picking up is. So SAHDs out there, be warned, if you show up at teh playground and you have a brain, there will be mobs of women with only one thing on theri minds - "Oh my God! Another Adult!!!"
